Shaping the theatre scene in Birmingham.

LONG DAY'S JOURNEY
INTO NIGHT
February 2006
Get ready to Shake up that Shakespeare!
Dane Peterson’s Theatre Series will host a free “Theatre Salon” for theatre fans and performers on Sunday, October 19, from 5 to 7PM, at the Women’s Clubhouse, 2908 Highland Avenue, Birmingham, AL.

Theatre groupies are invited to the free event for mixing and mingling, as well as for the opportunity to present a monologue, song selection or scene to those gathered.  Jan Hunter, Alan Litsey, Sandra Taylor and pianist Ty Thornton, will be on hand to offer some helpful feedback, alongside the evening’s salonnière, Carole Armistead.   A fun-filled, laid-back, and friendly chance to try out some new material, or just show up and enjoy the festivities.  DP Theatre Series will provide soft drinks and snacks, and invites guests to bring their “favorite” beverage.

For the performers, we are looking for variety!  Are you are working on a new monologue; an audition song; or a competition scene?  Then bring in your piece that’s no longer than two and a half minutes and give it your best shot... there’s nothing to lose among friends!  You can sign up for a performing slot at the beginning of the event.  The order of presentations will be based upon a good mix of comedy, drama, monologue, scene and song.  If you are singing, please bring your sheet music in the correct key (sorry, but no a capella or “do you know how to play” kind of stuff).

For more information, please e-mail Judy Jones from the “cast” page link above.
